Per week: $55.00
Per month: $ 220.00

Housing Rent:

Per month: $335.00

Credit Card:

Per month: $40.00

Total expenditures per month: $660.00

I am left with: 658.40

Food Costs:

Groceries per month total cost: $120.00
120.00-65.52= $54.48

Groceries per month from my pocket: $54.48

Total money left with for month: 603.92

My budget is listed above. Included are all the expenses that one would need to pay in order to live. We have housing, food, and random other bills that go with housing costs. All of these costs that are listed above, with the exception of the television are things that you need to pay in order to live life.

My income is listed above. I work a full time job, I make sure to put in at least 8 hours per day and I work 5 days a week. There are times I go in for over times on weekends or stay longer on my shift. This really helps out because I am short on money. I have enough income to cover all the needed expenses for me and my two children.

There are many costs that are not accounted for in this budget. Emergencies are the first. If a child or myself gets hurt then we have to pay for medical bills and they are very expensive. Another cost that is not put into this budget plan is transportation. I would have to take the bus, a taxi or buy a car if I am not located close enough to the grocery store or convince store. A third item that this budget is missing is fun and activities. If I want to take my children to the movies or buy them some new toys that would not be fit into this budget. Necessities like clothes and shoes and school supplies are also not fit into this budget. The children will need things like folders to keep their school papers in order and clothes because they are growing and needing new things all the time. There are many things not fit into this budget that are expensive and would not leave much for the end of the month for savings.

I believe that poverty and domestic violence are related in many ways. I think that women who have had violence are the ones that end up in poverty. They usually are single and have not only been abused by their husbands or lovers but by their fathers.

Some recommendations to help this situation are simply helping out these females who have children and have been abused. Just keep setting up more things like cheap child care, help them try to find new better paying jobs and help with transportation as much as possible.

Some good points

Nice work. Any emergency would put you over the edge. Yikes, a scary way to live...
Why is it that "women who have violence are the ones that end up in poverty?" Violence happens to wealthy women and poor women alike. Why would a women who was less well-off be more likely to stay in an abusive relationship?
