Discussion Blog Twelve

Congrats—you did it! You made it through the maiden voyage of www.cyberfem.org and lived to tell the tale. Feminist pedagogy is a mutual learning experience, and I've learned so much from each of you all semester. All of you brought a great deal to the discussions and regularly made thoughtful and intelligent posts, and for this I am truly grateful. As you can imagine, I take great pleasure in teaching this class, and I continue to look for ways to make the experience interesting and enjoyable for my students. Now that you are seasoned travelers, I hope that you'll spend a bit of time thinking about the format and content of this course and jot down a few of your thoughts about the experience:

What is the future of feminism? Do you believe that the feminist movement is still relevant and necessary today? Would you personally identify yourself as a feminist? Why or why not?

Many media outlets and pundits have declared that feminism is dead —drawing from this lesson's readings, how would you respond to this claim? How is our increasingly interconnected world changing the face of feminism?
